Little Things in Life

My Mother sent me a text message this morning and reminded me "its the little things in life that make us feel rich". So it has me thinking through the day about the little things. Thanks for the words Mom!

Taking Brogan, Taylor and Tylee to Beans and Brew for an Italian Soda last night and a trip to Costco. Brogan put his entire hand in the Italian Soda so he could lick off the whip cream. He made me giggle, making a mess and getting all sticky.....didnt matter. Little thing to others, big thing for Aunt Brenda.

Kayl took my Jeep up the mountains a few weekends ago. He brought the Jeep home a total mess, I honestly dont think it will ever be the same. His buddy said to him " isnt your aunt going to freak out?" Kayl told him, "nope, she doesnt care as long as we are safe and having fun". Little thing he said, tells me I am teaching him right. He sent me a text message last night, out of the blue and said "I love you so so so much". For a minute I thought he did something wrong or wanted something, nope it was just an I love you. My heart warmed to the core!

Morgan left last weekend to live with his Dad. The day he left I was in total tears. He put his arm around me and said "its okay Mom, I love you". How lucky am I!

So maybe some of those things are bigger things, but they make me happy. A simple I love you, an arm around your shoulder. Watching children play.....simple things in life that make you RICH!

Life

Had to title this one simply....... Life! So much has been going on, there is no way to sum it up with a specific title. One year passed, and today is a new day. We did pretty good on Monday I stayed in bed until 4:00 PM not wanting to face the world. Caleb and I went to the cemetery and left Jason his favorite beverage...yep a Natural Light. Caleb's idea to dump it out on his grave and the empty can was met by several others left by the family. That was the first time Caleb had been to Jasons grave, it was a little harder on him than I thought it was going to be. I feel so lucky to of had Jason in my life and miss him every day. Afterwards we met at Jared and Tori's for a BBQ and great conversation with them, Mike and his girls, Kayl and Taryn and my cute little family. I was lucky enough to be able to visit with Houstin and he was able to stay the night with the boys. Amazing!

Tori took a very cute picture of our little family. Thanks Tori!

We are moved back into the old house. It is a total mess with boxes all over the place. I cant seem to find anything this time around! We did rip out the carpet in the basement thanks to the renters and their fabulous dogs and replacing it with wood flooring. Mom you are going to love it.

Every day I miss my sweet husband, sometimes it feels so lonely around here. Havent been hiking through the move but did have a great time sailing last weekend. Hoping for a great hiking trip with some friends in Park City on Saturday. The kids are doing amazing. Morgan moved to his dad's....its okay family.....good choice. He wants to experience living with his dad and High School with his cousins. They are going to have a good time getting to know each other on a daily basis. Morgan and Kayl are in Blanding for the next 5 days working, going to be a pretty empty house without them. Caleb got his schedule today for Jr. High, WOW my kids are growing way to fast for me. He said to me today that he is never going to shave and put a braid in his beard. Next sentence was about saving money so he can go to medical school. Hmmmm I wonder how that is going to look. What a crack up.

I have more to share, however I cant find the cord to take the pictures off the camera....stay tuned.
